We’re making some adjustments to give all clients a better, more consistent experience. Protection (P), T-device Mobile’s protection plan sponsored by Assurant, is getting an upgrade starting November 1, 2021, and Sprint users will receive it as well!
- On your November account, you should see prorated charges for the P feature modification.
- There will be no open enrollment period as a result of these changes. Lines without device protection are subject to standard enrollment procedures.
- Your Sprint Complete program services will be extended until October 31, 2021, when you will be transferred to Protection. Sprint Complete customers will see Protection on their November bill instead.
Coverage ends on October 31, 2021 for consumers with insurance alone or a service contract*. Call 1-888-211-4727 or go to your nearest T-Mobile shop to enroll in P.
What are my benefits?
- For eligible devices, a $29 walk-in screen-only repair is now available in new approved repaid facilities, including T-Mobile retail locations1.
- Five total claims (increased from three) for loss, theft, and accidental damage in any rolling 12-month period (based on the date of the first repair or replacement).
- Accidental damage, loss, and theft coverage includes replacements the following business day.
- Access live tech help for your connected devices with the Protection app by Assurant5 (previously known as TechPHD by Assurant).

These premium advantages are included in your plan at no additional cost if you’ve been automatically enrolled in Protection.
What do I need to do to maintain coverage?
The good news is that no action is required if you have Sprint Complete (available until October 31, 2021). On November 1, your coverage will change to Protection, and you’ll receive a welcome kit from Assurant.
- Call 888-211-4727 or go to a T-Mobile shop to keep your coverage and enroll in the new device protection service. Coverage is, of course, optional. If you decide you don’t want device protection, you don’t have to do anything else.
Before November 15, 2021, anything stored on the Complete Storage App will need to be migrated to another storage solution. If you require assistance, please call 1-866-866-7509 to speak with one of our Tech Experts.
- For these devices, the $19 Sprint Complete plan is no longer available; the new price is $25.
Protect Sprint Complete Storage app memories

How long does Asurion take to process a claim?
If something goes wrong with your insured smartphone, you can file a phone insurance claim to get a replacement phone or have your existing phone repaired. When filing a claim with Asurion, you should do it within 60 to 90 days of the accident, malfunction, or loss.
How much is an Asurion deductible?
All deductibles are nonrefundable and only apply to claims that have been accepted. At this time, the $69 deductible tier does not apply to any device models, although it may in the future. Apple Inc. owns the trademarks Apple, Apple logo, iPad, and iPhone, which are registered in the United States and other countries.
Can I trade in a phone with a cracked back?
According to surveys, roughly one-third of smartphone owners have a damaged screen (and that they drop their phones a minimum of four times a week). Many smartphone owners believe their broken, old phone is beyond repair when it comes time to buy a new device.
Can I still trade my phone in if the screen is cracked?
- You’ve fallen your phone, the screen is shattered, and you’re at a loss on what to do. Is it better to pay for a repair or to sell your old phone and buy a new one?
- Is it possible to exchange an iPhone with a cracked screen? Yes, you can sell your phone screen for a decent price if it has physical LCD damage such as chips, cracks, scratches, or dents.
- When the LCD has flaws, such as the touch screen sensors not operating properly, it can still be sold, but it will be classified as broken / faulty by buyback firms, which means the offer will be lower.
What happens to my old phone when I upgrade?
One of my favorite things to do is upgrade my phone. Every phone enthusiast can’t resist the thrill of “upgrade day”: a new phone with improved graphics, performance, and functions. Getting a new phone, on the other hand, necessitates the disposal of our old phone. This is where you have to make some decisions.
When it comes to your old phone, you simply have two choices: keep it or throw it away. At least, that’s the gist of it. If you elect to keep old phone, you’ll have a backup plan in case something goes wrong with your new phone. If you get rid of it, you may usually sell it and obtain credit against the purchase of your new gadget. It changes for me depending on the upgrade and the device I was using.
If my old equipment has served me well, I’m likely to keep it rather than sell it. It’s shown to be a reliable phone, and just because it’s past its prime doesn’t mean it’s not worth keeping. If I didn’t like for a device I’ve owned, I’m not likely to want to keep it and would rather trade it in for credit toward something I genuinely desire.
I believe my most recent update, from an HTC EVO 3D to an iPhone, was the only time I felt compelled to keep my smartphone despite my dissatisfaction with the EVO 3D. But, even with Apple Care+ on my phone, I knew that if my phone was lost or stolen, I’d be on my own. Total Equipment Protection is available on Sprint for any device other than an Apple smartphone. Total Equipment Protection is a sort of insurance that allows you to replace your gadget (with a deductible) rather than paying full price if it is lost or damaged by fluids. One of the things I regret about owning an Android is having the security of knowing TEP was on my side. Surprisingly, I don’t feel as if Apple Care+ provides adequate protection.
I believe I will sell my iPhone when I upgrade to my next smartphone (which will most likely not be an iPhone). Although I enjoy the item, the price I can receive for it when I sell it is significantly higher than what I paid for it. One thing iPhones excel at is maintaining their value. Even a rudimentary iPhone 3GS can fetch a hefty sum nowadays. I’d get more value out of selling the iPhone and receiving insurance on the device if I had an Android, at least with Sprint.
You can also recycle your old smartphone, which is an excellent way to contribute to the community. Recycled gadgets can be used in a variety of situations, including other countries, troops, and shelters. I’d rather donate my gadget to a good cause if it’s still in good working order and won’t put much of a dent in the price of a new phone.
So, folks, what happens to your old device when it’s time to upgrade? Is it something you want to keep or something you’d rather get rid of? Maybe you’re like me and do a little bit of both. Please let me know!
How do I report my Sprint phone stolen?
If you have Protection, you can file a claim online or by calling 1-866-866-6285. The device must be operational on the T-Mobile network on the date of loss, and you must report the loss within 60 days of the incidence.
