It’s difficult to find travel insurance when you’re already on the road. We began off as digital nomads with a one-year long-term travel insurance policy, just like many other round-the-world travelers, but unlike them, we continued to travel beyond a year.
We discovered that we were unable to extend our travel insurance, and that new policies required us to be residents of the United Kingdom at the time of purchasing. We didn’t know what to do because we were overseas and went months without insurancenot a smart decision.
Thankfully, we discovered that you can purchase travel insurance once you’ve arrived in a foreign country, whether you failed to do it before leaving or you want to travel for more than a year.
While most businesses do not allow you to get travel insurance after you have left, a few reputable insurers do.

Can I buy travel insurance after departure Australia?
Travelers who have already left Australia and are currently abroad can get travel insurance, but the journey must begin and end in Australia. If you are purchasing an insurance while traveling outside of Australia, your return date must coincide with your intended return date.

A travel insurance coverage is often extendable for up to 180 days at a cost of an additional premium paid through internet banking. You should also be aware that extending your vacation is not assured; the insurance must authorize the extension depending on their underwriting.
What happens if I dont pay holiday balance?
Yes. When you signed the contract with the travel firm, you were informed of the balance due date.
You’ve broken the contract by not paying on time. The travel firm is likely to reserve the right to cancel your reservation without providing you prior warning (such as emailing you a reminder) and apply its cancellation fees, which normally means you will lose your deposit.
Keep in mind that businesses are not responsible for sending out reminders when it’s time to pay your bill. Some businesses may opt to do so, but this has no bearing on your contractual obligation to pay on the agreed-upon date.
