The terrible murders of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, in January caught everyone off guard. The contents of Kobe’s trust are private because he had one, but here’s what we know based on the trust summary and Probate Court documents:

  • Vanessa and his daughters were given access to the trust’s principle and income throughout Vanessa’s lifetime, with the remainder of the trust estate going to their children after Vanessa’s death.
  • The three elder daughters are named as beneficiaries in the trust, but Capri is not. Capri will not inherit from Kobe’s Trust because she does not have equal rights as a beneficiary.
  • As co-Trustees, Vanessa and Robert Pelinka Jr. have petitioned the Probate Court to alter the Trust.
  • Capri’s eligibility to inherit from Kobe’s Trust will be decided by a Probate Court Judge.

Hopefully, the Probate Court finds that including Capri as a beneficiary of Kobe’s Trust was his intention.
