Does Manulife cover Covid?

  • Customer coverage will not alter if they acquired the Manulife COVID-19 Pandemic Travel Plan and are at a destination or have not yet left on their vacation. If you test positive for COVID-19 while traveling, this plan will continue to pay qualified medical expenses. It also includes Trip Interruption Insurance, which covers accommodation and meal expenditures as well as a return flight if a medical practitioner orders quarantine or self-isolation as a result of a positive COVID-19 test result or contact tracing.
  • If a customer acquired a Manulife Travel Insurance Plan with emergency medical benefits between October 21, 2021 and December 16, 2021 (inclusive), their existing COVID-19 coverage will be in effect for the duration of their trip.
  • If a customer buys a Manulife Travel Insurance Plan with emergency medical benefits and plans to travel on or after December 17, 2021, they must purchase the Manulife COVID-19 Pandemic Travel Plan to be covered for COVID-19 medical expenses and quarantine benefits. Customers will be able to make any necessary adjustments until December 21, 2021, even while in transit.
  • Customers who are traveling on or after December 22, 2021, must acquire the Manulife COVID-19 Pandemic Travel Plan prior to departure to be insured for COVID-19 medical expenditures and quarantine benefits.
