I also texted everyone I knew to inform them I’d lost weight, as if losing 7 pounds had transformed me into a completely different person. This week was a whirlwind of work and motherhood.

My kid had a three-day fever, and I admit that I struggled to eat my vegetables and take care of myself.

It was a great miracle that I didn’t cheat and stuck with it.

I also went to Mt. Rainier for my “traveling with a baby series” and managed to remain on schedule.

I skipped a meal (which is not suggested), but I didn’t cheat!

There were numerous temptations, but I resisted them all.

It paid well, and I was able to shed another four pounds.

People began to comment on how gaunt my face appeared. I felt both thrilled and insulted at the same time. Right now, I’m shaking my head at myself. The headaches were gone this week, and I wasn’t desiring sugar as much. I was also stuffed.

We’re getting ready to travel to Hawaii, so this week is all about getting ready! I went to the clinic and obtained meals for two weeks. This time, I was able to choose the foods that I enjoy and that I believe will be easier for me to eat on the go because I’ll be traveling (the first two weeks the food was selected for me). I heartily recommend the mug cake and vanilla pudding as a side note (SO GOOD). I stuck to my diet and lost another 5 pounds. Because you shouldn’t do rigorous workouts while on the Ideal Protein plan’s first phase, I kept things light with 30-minute walks and yoga sessions here and there. I did spin a couple of times, but only at my own pace.

Hawaii-bound!

This is when my trip enters the “we’re all human” and “we all make errors” phase.

During my Hawaiian vacation, I drank (essentially) my body weight in Mai Tais and poke on one night in particular.

Come on, let’s be honest.

I’m at the beach, with the sun on my face and salt in my hair.

I felt compelled to indulge, so I did.

I was a little apprehensive about returning home and weighing in at the clinic at the end of my trip.

But, to my delight, I managed to shed another four pounds! Huh? We came to the conclusion that it was due to all of the extra walking, as well as the fact that I ate fewer portions than I had previously – another beneficial habit I picked up from my helpful coach.

I wanted to end the diet on a good note because it was my last week.

This week I was flawless, and I even lingered at work to use the fitness equipment.
