Your overall auto insurance rate is adjusted by Noblr based on your driving patterns. Because your activities are tracked by a phone app, your rate can fluctuate month to month.
A fixed monthly rate and a variable rate are the two types of rates. The variable rate is determined by how you drive over the course of a month. For example, if you drive late at night and use your phone more while driving, your insurance costs will rise.

How does car insurance work across state lines?
Have you ever wondered how vehicle insurance works when traveling between states? All auto insurance coverage are valid throughout the United States. If you have reasonably good coverage in your home state (which we highly recommend), that coverage will almost certainly follow you on your travels. However, if you choose to carry your state’s minimal coverage, your coverage may be automatically increased without your knowledge when you go to another state.
If you carry the minimum coverage required by your state and then drive into a state with greater minimum coverage requirements than your home state, your auto insurance carrier will automatically change your minimums to reflect the coverage required by the state you are currently in.
Let’s say you live in Virginia and have the state’s minimal property damage coverage of $20,000. If you drove into Kentucky, where the state minimum insurance requirement is $10,000, your greater coverage from Virginia would follow you there.
Let’s say you live in Kentucky and have the bare minimum of state coverage, and then you travel into Virginia. In such situation, your property damage coverage will automatically increase while you are in Virginia (from $10,000 to $20,000) to fulfill Virginia’s state minimum auto insurance coverage requirements.
In other words, because of the way vehicle insurance works, your minimum insurance coverage will only increase to match the higher minimum coverage requirements of other states, and it will never be lowered as you travel across the country.
Again, wherever possible, we strongly advise you to carry as much coverage as you can afford. State property damage coverage is limited; if you are responsible for totaling someone else’s automobile or other property, the damages will almost certainly exceed the state minimums, and you will be responsible for the difference. If you believe your current coverage is insufficient or is costing you too much (or both), now is an excellent time to look around for a new rate.
Does car insurance work in all states?
Yes, if you have a valid auto insurance coverage, you are covered no matter where you drive in the United States. That is true even if you are driving in a place where the insurance laws differ from your own. The amount of coverage required by your car insurance varies by state. Your insurance should protect you even if you’re driving across the country, even if you buy it based on your state’s coverage possibilities. Moving to another state permanently is a different situation, however your auto insurance will cover you for:
In fact, even if your insurance company doesn’t offer coverage in your destination state, your policy will cover you no matter where you drive in the United States. To that end, it doesn’t matter if you have the bare minimum of insurance coverage in another state as long as you have the bare minimum in your own.
