Policy underwriters
On behalf of other insurers, EUI Limited organizes the sale of motor and house insurance products. The insurers insuring your policy are explained in detail on your Certificate of Motor Insurance and in your Policy Booklet, and you can find more information in the Insurance Product Information document.
Supplementary products to the motor and house insurance products are provided in a similar manner, with the exception that the insurers for those products may differ from those listed above. The product supplier for each auxiliary product provided is listed in the relevant areas of this website and the Insurance Product Information document.
The precise coverage provided by any insurance policy or other product issued by us is subject to the policies’ terms, restrictions, and exclusions. On request, a copy of all of our policy paperwork is available online.
Commercial use
Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, this website is for non-commercial, personal use only.
You warrant that any application you submit through this website in order to obtain a quotation for motor, home, or travel insurance or a lending product is genuine and made solely for the purpose of purchasing a motor, home, or travel insurance policy or taking out a lending product is made for your own personal use. You agree to hold us harmless from any loss, damage, expense, or cost (including full indemnity legal fees) incurred by us as a result of you breaching this guarantee or otherwise misusing this website. You acknowledge that quantifying the losses we may experience as a result of any breach or misuse by you is challenging for us, and you agree that injunctive action may be the proper remedy for us in such instances.
Residency requirement
- For motor insurance, inhabitants of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands insure private motor vehicles within the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands;
- UK people insuring residential properties in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland for house insurance; and
- Residents of the United Kingdom who require travel insurance for visits overseas or within the United Kingdom; and
- Permanent inhabitants of England, Scotland, and Wales are eligible for loans and auto financing.
You confirm that you and any joint policyholders on the policy are UK residents by requesting a vehicle or home insurance quote, and that you will notify us immediately if you, your extra drivers, or joint policyholders cease to be permanent UK residents.
By requesting a travel insurance quote, you affirm that you and any listed persons on the policy are permanent residents of the United Kingdom, and that you will tell us immediately if someone ceases to be a permanent resident of the United Kingdom.
You affirm that you are a permanent resident of England, Scotland, or Wales by requesting a loan or auto finance quote, and that you will notify us immediately if you no longer are a permanent resident of England, Scotland, or Wales.

Is Admiral a broker or insurer?
Through our four brands: Admiral, Bell, Diamond, and elephant.co.uk, we are one of the UK’s largest vehicle insurance companies, with a history of innovation.
Gladiator is the Group’s Commercial Vehicle insurance broker, which acts on behalf of several of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle insurers. It was founded in 1998. With Admiral Van, we started underwriting our own commercial products in 2017.
Admiral Household was founded in 2012, and Admiral Law, the Group’s law practice, was founded in 2013.
We also introduced Admiral MultiCover, which lets our clients to combine their car, van, and house insurance into a single policy at a lower cost.

Is Admiral an underwriter?
For its UK vehicle insurance business, Admiral Group has extended its underwriting contracts with Munich Re. Admiral benefits from the long-standing collaboration by reducing risk and earning profit commissions.
Munich Re underwrites 40% of Admiral’s UK auto insurance business, which will be extended until at least the end of 2018 under the new deal. The cost and contractual parameters are kept under wraps, although the Group says that they provide Admiral with a modest improvement over 2017.
Henry Engelhardt, the company’s chief executive officer, commented on the events, saying: “Munich Re is an excellent partner, and we are delighted to continue our long-term partnership for at least another five years. This deal demonstrates their continuous faith in our company, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with them for many years to come.”

EUI Limited trades under the name Admiral. You have a separate arrangement with EUI Limited, who administers the policy, in addition to your insurance with the Authorised Insurers. In addition to the additional services EUI Limited may perform on behalf of the Authorised Insurers, this agreement covers specific insurance intermediary services delivered to you.

Is Sheilas Wheels part of Admiral?
Sheilas’ Wheels is an automobile insurance company headquartered in the United Kingdom that specializes in female drivers. Peter Wood launched the brand, which is named after the Australian slang term sheila for a lady, in October 2005 as part of Esure, the insurance firm he co-founded with HBOS in February 2000.
